Board Meeting
To the Ruby Ranch Community -
Attached is the Willow Brook Metro District resolution declaring a water emergency in Ruby Ranch. The concept of this resolution was discussed at the Board’s April 17, 2026, meeting and formally adopted at a Special Meeting on May 1, 2026.
Drought conditions are getting worse. We have been notified that it is very likely our irrigation of hay meadows will be curtailed because the most senior downstream users have invoked their rights to call out all other users in the Colorado River Basin.
We must do everything possible to manage and conserve our domestic uses of water from our wells. The Board has adopted emergency regulations effective May 1, 2026, we hope will limit homeowners’ use of domestic water to interior health, safety and welfare uses. Among other things, the emergency regulations restrict:
- refilling pools or hot tubs,
- irrigation of landscaping,
- car washing, and
- hosing down or power washing outdoor surfaces.
It will take all of us to get through this. The RROA and the ARC will work with you on any specific landscape issues.
Please help every way you can. You are welcome to talk with any District director about your questions.
