High Country Conservation Recycling Tips
Recycling via the single stream system for Home/HOA/Metro District pickup is more limited than drop off recycling (you bring to recycling center direct) due to contamination and other issues with mixing in a recycling truck.

Absolute "NO Recycling" items that are not obvious on the High Country Conservation Recycling Poster:
*No clam shell or salad box recycling. These boxes melt and combust completely during the recycling process and the ash contaminates the system.
*NO greasy pizza boxes. Again, a contamination issue. NO food in the recycling - please rinse/clean your yogurt tubs, aluminum cans, etc.
*NO Plastic Bags: No loose plastic bags and do not throw recycling away that is in a plastic bag - the bags clog the machines and can cause equipment failure.
*NO disposable cups. They are disposable. Put your coffee cups into the garbage.
Please use the "Rocky, the Recycle Robot" (Link Provided) for any questions about your recycling. There are many items you can take to a recycle drop off location, but not into our dumpsters due to truck contamination. Recycle Robot will let you know where to bring your specific items. For large items or household items you would like to recycle, you may also try using the "Eartha" tool also linked.
